Ham and Legs Show #033

This week, Ham and Legs had more of a fluffy show than usual.  Lighter in tone and demeanor.  There was talk of the President and his accomplishments thus far.  The Health Care fight lugs on....the fact that the Republicans are embracing the most right wing faction of its party and that, quite frankly, Ham and Legs feel this is going to kill the party.  And if that's how they want to die, so be it.

They spoke briefly about the horrible tragedy in Fort Hood and their thoughts and prayers go out to the victims.

So, we hope you enjoy!

Sean, I'll buy some merch from you, what do you suggest for me? Do you have skull caps??? Jody, do you still love me?? That's a stupid question, how could you not? George bush was an absolute blithering idiot but Obamas 10 months has been a suck fest, you must admit.

Kenny, I think that the license plate frame would complement nicely on the Vette.
I would think now, more than ever, at least in my lifetime, that our voice needs to be heard, that our vote matters, that apathy breeds death, destruction, and unthinkable sadness. It breeds an opposition that would rather shout than meet at the table to have a healthy debate, that they would rather meet on the steps of a meeting and use your document as confetti rather than read it and then not attend the meeting. The past 16 years are, were, delusional. We all let a lot slide due to living well, living better that we had the previous 16 years. Never underestimate the power of denial. When watching these protest rally’s is hard to tell if these folks are pissed at the government or at themselves for being so apathetic these many years.
Now, I think I’ve stated during the show on more than one occasion that I am the vindictive one. It’s not a trait that I hold high, but I am what I am. For now. With that being said, I would’ve put the money that went to the car companies towards improving our own transportation infrastructure. Basically telling the powers that be who head these car companies, I no longer have confidence in what you do, what you’re doing, and that you have the intelligence to push your company into the future. Then I’d hand him his card-board box and tell ‘em to pack up. I wouldn’t be so kind to the heads of the financial institutions. The TARP money I would’ve put towards banks and other financial institutions that were not involved in all the chaos. Lots of Union banks and such kept their noses clean and could use the help as people try to regain control over whatever may be left. I’m not a fan of Geitner or Paulson due to the fact aren’t these the same two jerk-wads that were on point overseeing and advising the last president. For this our president is proving to the folks on Faux News, “..meet the new boss is just like the old boss..”
I believe the man in the oval office is smarter than I and therefore surrounds himself with others that are like-minded so that I may sleep a little better knowing that all this, all this craziness will soon be something that we can all look back on and know, "never again."
And yeah, that's my short answer.

Well said for the most part Sean. I'm not sure that most of the "oposition" are not intelligent enough to even know what being apathetic means so being pissed at themselves for being that is a little far fetched. I have always been one who said that I want my commander and chief to be smarter than me and that's why I hated George W so much but the fact that the man in the oval office now is an intelligent person doesn't make me sleep better when I fear he may be putting his intelligence behind the wrong ideas or values. Someone who promises the world and delivers nothing scares me. I think it may be too soon to tell but it looks at this point like six of one last term and half a dozen of another thus far this term. Only time will tell, hopefully we won't all be homeless in a destitute country by the time we know the answer.
