Ham and Legs Show #043

So, we send our heartfelt prayers to the Haitian people devastated by this past week's horrible 7.0 earthquake.  Below we've listed several ways that you can donate funds using your cell phone.  Every little bit helps.  Ham mentioned that credit card companies, in general, charge charities the normal 3% fee for transactions except Capital One, so if you have a card issued through them, please use that card, 100% of your donation will go to the charity.

Unlike Capital One, Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh are taking this tragedy and using it to decry whomever they don't like.  Apparently Mr. Robertson hates people who rise up against oppression, since he said on his show the other day that the Haitians made a pact with the devil when overthrowing the French...and Mr. Limbaugh has politicized this so much that Ham's blood pressure is starting to get dangerously high.  Roger Ebert wrote an open letter to Mr. Limbaugh, you should read it and applaud him.  You can access it here

Prop 8 in California is on trial....the defense is practically conceding defeat.  No matter the outcome it's gonna be up to SCOTUS.  I hope they rule, when they get it, in favor of civil rights.  Time will tell.

The Texas State Board of Education wants to make Joe McCarthy a hero and change the status of our country's founders and Christian, which they weren't.  They have control over curriculum and what goes in text books around the country.  Quite scary. They think "critical thinking is gobbledygook.".....

Avatar is causing depression and suicidal thoughts in some viewers due to them realizing Pandora doesn't exist?  ... Huh?

And finally, and most importantly, the Leno v Conan smack down at NBC....

Here is a list of ways you can donate to Haitian relief.

Conan OBrien has nothing going for him except being a freak of nature. Perhaps more critical thinking should have been used BEFORE they put him in that spot. The people making the decisions on shows we see on TV must have been educated in the failing California Educational system.

Couldn't agree with you more about the critical thinking.  Hope all is well, Mom!

There were so many things to comment about in that show that it would take a looooong time and a lot of writing to do it so I will just say that it was an interesting show filled with controversy and I enjoyed listening to it. Thank you guys for pointing out that UPS is shipping packages under 50lbs for free to Haiti, looks like I will be cleaning out my three storage containers and getting 10 or 15 49lb packages ready to ship! Seans microphone was muffled for most of the show, it sounded like he had a sock covering the mic, I'm not sure if I'm complaining or thanking you, lol! Last but definitely not least, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JODY! The years have been kind to you, you sexy thing!!!

Thank you for the birthday greetings, Kenny.  The UPS thing may be a rumor...so check before shipping.  And yes, I noticed the muffled sound...I'll go back to that mic this week and give the other one to Sean...we'll see.  I still blame him for the last 2 mics breaking.
      Thanks always for listening!
