Ham and Legs Show #071
You know how Ham loves her charts. A great article by Bob Cesca for the Huffington Post easily points out how the GOP and its love of tax cuts does absolutely no real good for the economy or the deficit, so why would anyone that earns less than $250K a year vote for these guys? Seriously, do you know?
So, if you are running for office, hope Palin doesn’t endorse you. It seems that is not a good thing, as much as the press would like you to believe the opposite.
The Dems may finally be growing a backbone when it comes to hammering home a strategy to win or at least not lose as many seats this November. And the plan looks like a good one.
The President went on the View this week, Ham watched it and thought he did a fine job. Legs and Ham disagree with many that it was a bad move. This is one way to reach the general public and he and the ladies did a great job!
Congress made a small, but good step in the sentencing rules for Crack v Cocaine offenses. It is still bad, but moving in the right direction.
Oh, the Arizona Papers Please law was partially struck down. The judge was a Clinton appointee, but John Kyl, a republican, endorsed and supported her confirmation. He’s mum on her ruling, which placed holds on the unconstitutional parts of the law. And speaking of 1070. Gov. Brewer of Arizona has 2 people in her staff that used to lobby for CCA, which is a PRIVATE prison company that would benefit greatly if 1070 stays the law and they re-enact the parts that are on hold now. Hmmmm. Sounds like this is less about immigration and more about the $$$, what do you think?
Bush’s memoir is coming out and the GOP is not pleased…there's a rumor that the soon to be published memoirs title “Decision Points” was not the original title. Legs got a hold of some of the possible titles that were tossed aside:
"I'm with Stupid"
..."Me, Myself, and Dick"
"Idiots Guide to Running the White House"
"Dare to Dream It"
"Life Lessons for Bush's"
"The Brotherhood of the Wondering Thought"
"The Tao of Browny"
"I am Always With You"
"Everything Will Be All Right. Trust Me"
"Hello Dick, It's Me George"
"Letter to Myself"
"I Heart Bush"
"I Now Know Why the Caged Bird Sings"
"Poetry for Young People"
But “Decision Points” is good too.
Ham is trying to get the word out about a documentary about the Deaf community and the penal/judicial systems. The people directing and producing the movie need some financial help, so we’ve put a link on our site for Rise From The Ashes, if you can give some cash, that would be great.
And finally, Legs is pushing Gunter Pauli’s book called: “The Blue Economy: 10 Years, 100 Innovations, 100 Million Jobs”. Amazing ideas. Put your orders in now. http://www.zeri.org
Talk at you next week.
